Ilish (hilsa) DoPeaja

Hilsa

Ingredients:

  • Ilish (Hilsha) 7 pieces
  • Chopped onion one cup
  • Onion paste 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder 1 teaspoon
  • Green chili 5-6 pieces
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • In a fry pan prepare oil and fry the onion to lightly caramelized
  • Add all the spices except fish and cook well
  • When you are satisfied add the fish and carefully cook in the prepared spice
  • Add one cup of water and cover with a lid
  • when the water is dry and oil covers lightly the top – you are done
